All about JaPH Dolls


        Nowadays, the rise of Idol Groups and several girl groups are made the spotlight throughout the world of Pop Music regards to the Pop Culture in entire globe made it to the top and made their names. There are several groups are containing members are in different regions in a country some members of each group are in different races even consists of mixed races as well. In the Philippines, this is new, yet rare, a group by the fusion of two cultures, Japanese and Filipino cultures united by one blood, yet all came together from the Land of The Rising Sun now showing their talent to the Pearl of The Orient Seas, the name of this group is JaPh Dolls.


           JaPh Dolls, the first-ever Japanese-Filipina Girl Group sounded as “JAF DOLLS” the word “JaPh” meant as “Ja” for Japan and “Ph” for the Philippines, introduced as 3 members and became 4 later on. The group was recruited in Japan with no auditions, much like similar to the professional basketball leagues as undrafted, formed in the late 2016 in the Philippines, therefore they signed a contract in January 2017 until became 5 members a month later under Viva Records Corporation, a subsidary group of Viva Entertainment Incorporated, one of the biggest names in media company in the Philippines more notably in local movies even have their own channel where all shows, movies and artists in their brand was shown in local cable channels.


       This is not just an ordinary Girl Group here, they are extraordinary in terms of their roots, they are 5 Japanese-Filipina ladies, namely Risa Murayama, Runa Takanashi, Riyo Nishijima, Reina Minagawa, and Rika Sakuma. JaPh Dolls to be considered to some people as an Idol Group, because of their irresistible charm like Japanese Girls (based on their names), yet they are familiar about the Idol Scene since they were in Japan, it will be seen how they look, how they talk, how they sing, how they dance, much like Japanese Idol Groups but in reality, this is much like similar to E-Girls, Fairies and Speed, their appearances prior to their recording debut is by performing in several bars for gigs around Manila, in their debut, their 1st Single was introduced entitled “Magdamagan” (Overnight) having their shots in their Music Video to the different places in Japan notably some tourist spots even traditional food shops and restaurants are also featured there, the song lyrics were in Tagalog and Japanese, not translated for each language but mixed in the whole part. 


         Aside from recording while in their debut, they are doing Live Videos promoting their debut song mostly in Facebook Live, TV and radio appearances as the beginning of their fanbase. In November 25, 2017 one of their public appearances is in TokyoManiLove, happened in Fisher Mall, Quezon City, they performed several cover songs in that time and plugging in social media pages, in the same month JaPh Dolls nominated No.31 out of 39 as a part of New Asian Music for November 2017. December 4, 2017, guest performance of NET 25’s show, LETTERS AND MUSIC. December 29, 2017, guest performance at PTV 4’s show, Bagong Pilipinas. February 10, 2018, Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival, JaPh Dolls made their appearance as a 2nd Opening performance, this live event, made a push to the group, featured different artists from the Philippines, Japan and in the US, prior to its Philippines event, this was successful to Japan and China, the proceeds will go to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation to the people of Marawi. Notably featured in this event is Maria Theresa Gow (Georgie Leland from Ultraman Gaia, 1998) and Beverly (who sung “Be The One”, Opening Theme Song from Kamen Rider Build, 2017 and “Everlasting Sky” from Kamen Rider Build: Be The One Movie, 2018). The year 2018 made JaPh Dolls several appearances, after Ishin-Denshin, they became endorsers in different marketing companies, Audition Next Level, the game produced by Playpark, made partnership with JaPh Dolls as Brand Ambassadresses, made their surprise performance in Playpark All-Stars 2018 Kickoff last March 4, 2018 at SM North Edsa. April 11, became brand ambassadors at Anytime Fitness, Glorietta 5 in Makati. April 22, guestings at the KPOP Cover Dance Festival, this is also related to CLUB AUDITION, under Playpark held at Tanghalang Pasigueño, Pasig City. June 24, 2018, for Cabal Online’s 10th Anniversary: REVOLUT10N guesting held at Skydome, SM North Edsa, the newest song was performed in this event entitled “Yamete Kudasai”. September 2, 2018, Manila Idol Matsuri, the 2nd biggest event that JaPh Dolls participated in 2018, in this event, this is their debut as hosts also performing for both Stages 1 for Finale and 2 as 2nd to the Final performers. September 23, 2018, live performance at OTAKU FIESTA located at Tiendesitas, Pasig City. September 30, 2018, surprise Guest performance at Cosplay Mania 2018, celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia. October 13, 2018, Live Performance at Naruto Day 2018, at V-Mall, Greenhills Mall. And on December 22, 2018, their final performance for 2018. PlayPark XP 2018 at Ynares Sports Center Pasig.  


         JaPh Dolls made successful especially in the year 2018. For their mixed cultures, they bridge the gap both Japan and the Philippines through Music, where both countries made a standout for Pop genre. The term “no language barrier” will be seen to JaPh Dolls and recognized how they entertain listeners and viewers for their unique style of the songs that they performed. For this era of rising Idols Groups, both mainstream and indies, JaPh Dolls made also a standout much like Idol Groups. Now, in 2019, JaPh Dolls one of the nominees for BEST AIDORU GROUP (PH Idol) in OTAKU CHOICE AWARDS voting started last March 15 until April 14, 2019, the results will be finalized on May 17, 2019 at Philippine Otaku Festival: Asobu. What’s next for JaPh Dolls for 2019, also for the upcoming future events? Stay tuned for the updates soon.  These five ladies looks like suited for some Tokuheroine roles in a Tokusatsu series on this new Reiwa era, I hope they will have their future roles, therefore, they were looked like Toku Heroines or maybe villainesses before and after Heisei Era, well who knows, time will tell if they will a part of a Tokusatsu show in the near future..By the way here are the pics of JaPH Dolls and enjoy !!!!:
