1. MECHA: These are giant vehicles or mechanical animals.

2. KYODAI ROBO:These are giant humanoid robots.
Example: Battle Fever J' Battle Fever Robo, Red Baron, Mach Baron
3. HENKEI ROBO:These are giant robots capable of transforming into other forms like vehicle or animals.
Example: Denziman' DaiDenzin , Maskman' Galaxy Robo, Megranger' Galaxy Mega.
4. GATTAI ROBO:These are giant robots formed by the combination of multiple components like vehicles or mechanical animals.
Example: Maskman' Great Five, Kakuranger' Kakure Dai Shogun, Kyuranger' KyuRen-Oh.
