In the past few years that we are running this blog Tokupinoy, some people might be wondering some things. Among the things that readers must be thinking especially the new comers are the following. Why is this blog bashing Power Rangers and other shows that use footage from Super Sentai and other sub genres of tokusatsu and why this blog insist on being purist?
It is now time for the authors to address this concern. Why do this blog bash Power Rangers? There are several reasons. First is that Power Rangers is like a parasite which cannot live without SS. Comparable to a leech that needs blood from other animals to live or a tape worm which sucks nutrients from it's victims, Power Rangers needs SS elements to make a show. No Power Rangers show produced it' own suit, weapons and robots. All of them came from SS. Another reason that why this blog is bashing Power Rangers is because this show destroyed the reputation of the tokusatsu genre. People brand tokusatsu as Power Rangers because of the wrong impression it give. There are other reasons and the authors might address them some other time.
The second concern that the authors would like to address is the purist spirit it uphold. Why are the authors upholding that? Here is the answer. The authors of this blog grew up in the likes of Bioman, Maskman, Shaider, Kamen Rider Black, Ultraman and others way before Power Rangers were aired, although the most of the Filipinos are unaware of the term tokusatsu during those times. The authors being Filipinos were exposed to tokusatsu first hand and grew up patronizing such programs. Those programs become pop culture icons in the 90's and became influential in the values formation of the authors particularly the virtues of courage, friendship, love and sense of justice. That is another reason why the authors despise Power Rangers. It is like an evil entity that deceive people blinding them from the truth. Despite the fact that the internet exposes what Power Rangers really is, some people still refuse to see the light.
Despite the authors' contempt for Power Rangers and the like, the authors do appreciate original tokusatsu programs in other countries. Programs like Bima were created without being dependent on footage from other shows making them original made. Toei, Tsuburaya, Toho and other companies already provide the world with the template on how to make tokusatsu shows. It is now the initiative of the people outside Japan to follow the template provided to them just like how the Indonesians did to Bima.
With those things said, the authors would like to leave some friendly reminders. To the readers, next time that you visit this blog, please bear in mind that this is a blog of Purists, made by Purists for the benefit of Purists. There is no way that the authors would treat Power Rangers and the like with mercy. Instead, the authors treat it with impunity. If you are a Power Ranger fan and you got offended by the contents of this blog, the blame is with you. Common sense dictates that this blog is in no way be endorsing fake shows. In short, you caused your own misery. But if you are stupid enough to argue, you are welcome. Feel free to feel the pain and humiliation you would take because of your own stupidity.
You should have learned already that you are on the wrong yard. This blog is not for PR-shit.
In the end, if you are a PR-shit fan and you visit this blog, you have two choices. Shut and stay or argue and be embarrassed.
