Ryoma Damashii is based on Ryoma Sakamoto (1836-1867) who is one of the Japanese greatest historical figures because for his vision of a modern and independent Japan to be free from feudalism of Tokugawa Shogunate. Ryoma Sakamoto is a peacemaker when he unites Choshu and Satsuma to stop the war and to remove Shogunate era in Japan. Ryoma Sakamoto's goal is to modernize and having an equal rights on every Japanese people just like in the United States.
Goemon Damashii is based on the Legendary Japanese Robin Hood called Ishikawa Goemon (1558-1594) who stole gold and some precious items to gave it to the poor, he is also popular in different Ninja skills that he perform. He attempt to assassinate Hideyoshi in 1594 to avenge his wife's death and the capture of his son, but it fails until he is executed together with his son on a boiling pot.
